Mattioli will be presenting “Protecting Patient Data from Breaches and Improper Access: Is Your Practice HIPAA Compliant?” The session will cover strategies for maintaining appropriate security to protect PHI and responding to a data breach or security incident.
According to MD Advantage’s website, the conference attendees will discuss key components, legal considerations, and potential exposures of telemedicine; weak points in security of personal health information; hurdles that healthcare organizations face from an IT perspective; and the process of cleaning up unreliable online search information. In addition, participants will learn how to identify methods to persuade mobile searchers of a practice’s expertise, and how to incorporate technology to create a team-building program focused on improving customer service.
Mattioli provides regulatory, transactional, and compliance guidance to hospitals, physicians, and other health care providers in a variety of areas, including antitrust, health care reform, managed care contracting, reimbursement, fraud, and health information privacy and security, and medical staff credentialing. He has litigated numerous cases involving health care entities in antitrust, False Claims Act, breach of privacy, and commercial disputes with other providers.
