Sparkhouse Family, A Christian Publishing House, Wins Gold Medal in International Contest
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) November 08, 2015 -- Sparkhouse Family, an imprint of sparkhouse, is pleased to announce that The Holy Moly Story Bible is a 2015 Moonbeam Children’s Book Award winner. The Bible took the gold medal in the Religion/Spirituality category.
“The award shows our dedication to creating fun and inspiring Christian books that kids really love,” says Andrew DeYoung, Director of Development at Sparkhouse Family. The Holy Moly Story Bible ($22.99) brings people and places from the Bible to life in creative ways through author Rebecca Glaser’s clever storytelling and the colorful illustrations provided by Bill Ferenc and Emma Trithart.
In addition to the award winning Bible, Holy Moly is a line of integrated multimedia products that includes videos and storybooks. The videos, for example, use lively animation and sound effects to give children the opportunity to retell Bible stories in their own words. Together, all Holy Moly products cover the same Bible stories and use humor to engage kids as they look, listen, and read.
The Moonbeam Awards bring increased recognition to the year’s best children’s books and are chosen by judging panels of book reviewers, librarians, teachers, and students. Now in its ninth year, the contest was founded on the notion that childhood literacy and lifelong reading are vital to help children thrive in a rapidly changing world. In all, 165 medalists in 48 categories were chosen from over 1,400 entries, and medals will go to books representing 36 U.S. States, six Canadian provinces, and Australia, Singapore, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Spain.
