Boston Children’s Museum announces the appointment of Sue Kim as Vice President of Development. For more than 20 years, Sue has distinguished herself as a strategic leader in fundraising and nonprofit management. She joins the Museum from Harvard University, where she most recently was director of the Harvard Kennedy School Fund.
In her new position, Sue brings her experience building relationships with donors, leading development teams, and her passion for education. In partnership with the Museum’s board leadership and staff, Sue will guide the creation and implementation of a comprehensive development plan, enabling the Museum to sustain and expand its innovative exhibits and programs. As the chief strategist for fundraising, Sue will oversee a team charged with increasing philanthropic and membership support for the Museum’s ongoing and innovative programming and outreach. Her work will encompass principal and leadership individual giving, annual giving, events, and corporate and foundation support.

At Harvard, Sue successfully built a comprehensive fundraising and executive board program accomplishing major fundraising goals and building long-term relationships with critical stakeholders, in support of vital global research, programs, and students.
She has managed large campaigns, executive boards, and development efforts for Harvard’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences and other organizations. Sue also spent several years in student services and academic affairs at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education, where she counseled graduate students and strengthened relationships with various internal and external constituents.

Sue holds a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree from Boston University and a Master of Education from Harvard University Graduate School of Education. Sue is also the recipient of the 2008 Educator of the Year Award, as well as academic and professional fellowships in recognition for her volunteer leadership and board service in the community and in international organizations.
Kim joined Boston Children’s Museum on September 14.

Hours and Admission
The Museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Fridays until 9:00 p.m. Adults, $16, children (1-15) and senior citizens, $16; children under 12 months and Museum members are always free. Fridays 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., all visitors $1.
