We’re proud to have been the company chosen by the city of Grandville for this program and we’re happy to be helping residents dispose of their leaves during this busy fall season.
Grandville, MI (PRWEB) November 09, 2015
Between the dates of October 19 to November 17, Arrowaste will provide curbside leaf collection services to residents of the city of Grandville, MI. After city buildings were put out for a bid sent to Arrowaste as well as their competitors, the bid was ultimately awarded to Arrowaste.
In order to utilize this service, residents need only purchase the designated brown paper bags for a bundle of five for $6.25, rake their leaves, and place the bags full of leaves on the curb for pick up. These bags can be purchased at three separate locations.
- City Hall -- 3195 Wilson Ave.
- Family Fare -- 3960 Wilson Ave.
- Ivanrest Hardware --3291 28th St.
Arrowaste will pick up the bags on Mondays and Tuesdays each week. For all residents South of Buck Creek, pick up will be on Mondays; those North of Buck Creek will have Tuesday pick up.
This program will have multiple benefits for the community. Residents will be able to clear their lawns of leaves in a cost-efficient, convenient, environmentally friendly, and sustainable fashion.
“We’re proud to have been the company chosen by the city of Grandville for this program and we’re happy to be helping residents dispose of their leaves during this busy fall season,” said Russell Boersma, General Manager at Arrowaste.
After pick up, the leaves will be brought to a compost facility where they will be turned into compost or dirt for use by other operations.
Because the compost facility is closed from December 1 to March 31, the pick up service will end on November 30 and won't again be available until April 1. Because of this, Arrowaste suggests utilizing this service soon while it's still available.
In order to help aid in prompt pick up, Arrowaste provided a set of beneficial guidelines:
- Do not park vehicles in the street blocking leaf bags placed at the curb.
- Loose leaves are not to be placed in the street due to possible clogging of storm drains and posing a traffic hazard.
- Put bagged leaves at curbside the night before pickup day.
- Only City of Grandville leaf bags will be picked up, bags purchased elsewhere will not be collected.
Arrowaste is one of the major players in the trash industry and have had experience providing these services to municipal authorities, such as the Plainfield Township, Holland Township, and Park Township.
They believe that the curbside leaf collection should bring even more awareness to the company and their services to the Grandville area. More information about Arrowaste's curbside pickup service can be found on the city of Grandville's website.
