The University of Texas Longhorns will face the University of Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday, November 7, 2015. The game starts at 7pm CST and as part of the opening ceremony, Team Fastrax™ will deliver the game ball while performing their much anticipated American Flag Army Strong demonstration jump, in recognition of Veterans Day. The performance will consist of their 2,000 sq. ft. American Flag, Armed Forces flags and Army Strong canopies. The audience will also be treated to a special pyrotechnics skydive. It’s sure to be an amazing sight. The jump will be shown on the scoreboard with live air-to-ground video, so spectators can experience the show on a whole new level.
John Hart, owner of Start Skydiving, and Founder of Team Fastrax™ said, “We are honored to be performing our patriotic American Flag skydive for the Longhorns game, especially in recognition of Veterans Day. Members of Team Fastrax have served the United States of America as part of the Armed Forces, many in combat, so we particularly enjoy performing at any event that honors our nation’s military.”
According to the Longhorns’ website, they will recognize Veterans Day during the week as well as Saturday's game against Kansas. At 3 p.m. on Thursday, there will be a ceremonial wreath laying at the Frank Denius Veterans Plaza, located outside the northwest corner of Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. On Saturday, commemorative coins and souvenir placards will be distributed at Fan Fest in the Red McCombs Red Zone starting at 3 p.m. while supplies last. The Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium Veterans Committee will be recognized during pregame festivities. In addition to the Team Fastrax™ performance, prior to kickoff, the Commemorative Air Force will perform a flyover, including the World War II era B-25 Bomber "Yellow Rose.” UT Chancellor Bill McRaven (retired Navy four-star admiral) and Associate Vice Chancellor Tony Cucolo (retired Army major general) will serve as honorary captains, along with four World War II veterans, at the coin toss. Several recognitions will also take place during the game including the Naval ROTC 75th Anniversary.
