Publishing a brand-new edition every single weekday, News-O-Matic has reached more than 1.5 million children from across the globe. Web access will now allow all educators to use the powerful resource to inspire their students with differentiated instruction using high-interest informational text.
“We are thrilled with this new version of News-O-Matic, as it now allows students to access their favorite daily news on any device,” said News-O-Matic Founder Lillian Holtzclaw Stern. “Being platform agnostic also facilitates school adoption across the United States and abroad.” She added that teachers still have the capability to adjust the students’ reading levels so they can all enjoy the same rich multimedia experience but tailored to their unique abilities.
News-O-Matic has received millions of comments, votes, and drawings from its young readers, evidence of a high level of engagement from across the globe. Videos, photos, audio support, and interactive maps contribute to the students’ understanding of world events, and daily quizzes correlate to state and national standards to assess comprehension. Now this interactive experience has been expanded to computers and Chromebooks.
