Colligo Unveils Three New Apps and Major Enhancements to its Mobile Content Management Platform, Colligo Engage
European SharePoint Conference, Stockholm, Sweden (PRWEB) November 10, 2015 -- Colligo, a leader in mobile content management (MCM) solutions for Microsoft SharePoint, Office 365 and OneDrive for Business, today announces significant new enhancements to its Colligo Engage platform, including three new apps, email management across desktop and mobile devices, and new administrative capabilities such as enhanced reporting, central policy management and Active Directory integration.
“Employees now expect great apps to access their data from any device, but along with that comes heightened security and governance concerns that are creating unprecedented challenges for IT,” says Barry Jinks, President and CEO of Colligo. “The Colligo Engage platform bridges the gap between what employees want and what the enterprise needs. We’re proud to unveil new additions to Colligo Engage - a faster, more versatile, highly-scalable, feature-rich platform that helps enterprises better utilize their core information systems and expedite seamless access to content across desktops, tablets and smartphones.”
Colligo has built three new specialized apps: (1) Email Manager for iOS: the industry’s first native iOS app that enables email filing and classification on SharePoint/Office 365; (2) Briefcase for Android: online and offline SharePoint/Office 365 document management for Android devices and; (3) Email Manager for Outlook: Colligo’s next generation Outlook-SharePoint/Office 365 integration with advanced scalability.
To manage and secure the apps, the Colligo Engage platform includes an administration service, the Colligo Console, which is built on Microsoft Azure, a highly scalable and secure cloud computing platform. The Console has also received a number of major enhancements, including:
• The ability to create and manage user groups;
• Support for single sign on and policy deployment through Active Directory;
• New reporting capabilities built on Azure Streaming Analytics to provide a dashboard of user activities that enables organizations to monitor compliance with email and document management policies; and
• Device management capabilities, such as disabling access to app data if devices are lost or stolen.
“We need more innovation in platforms that leverage mobile devices to support content on the go," says Alan Pelz-Sharpe, Research Director at 451 Research. “Mobility has become the norm at work and enterprises need to catch up by gaining access to platforms that will help them move towards managing mobile content as part of their overall IT systems – not as a separate entity.”
A Device-centric Data Synchronization Platform
Enterprises are still struggling with complicated architectures for delivering content from multiple repositories to a wide array of mobile devices. Unlike most other systems that take a server-centric approach by synchronizing content to a separate content hub, Colligo is taking a device-centric data synchronization approach.
The clear advantages of Colligo’s device-centric approach to synchronization are:
- The system has the capability to synchronize content across multiple repositories with native apps that provide as rich a user experience on mobile devices as on desktops.
- It eliminates the need to support a new server to house corporate information and is, therefore, more efficient as it does not require a two-step synchronization process.
- It is more secure as data is only shared between the service and users’ devices.
- The direct to device sync can support a variety of features and capabilities unique to each service, such as syncing metadata for records management and workflow.
“Businesses are becoming ever more mobile as are their customers,” adds Pelz-Sharpe. “There is a huge opportunity in the marketplace for innovative and practical solutions to support this radically evolving work environment.”
Complete Solution for Common Mobile Enterprise Scenarios
With thousands of active corporate customers and hundreds of thousands of end users, Colligo has gained a rich understanding of the needs of today’s end users and enterprises. Coupled with SharePoint, Office 365 or OneDrive for Business, Colligo Engage provides a unique solution to challenging enterprise scenarios such as document distribution, mobile collaboration and email management.
Product Availability
