It recounts the various struggles and triumphs that she had to face – the family’s various circumstances – and how she overcame them with her faith in God. From her father’s terminal illness, financial hardships, a teenage marriage, dealing with an abusive and alcoholic husband, divorce, and raising children alone. Darlene stayed strong in her faith and hope in God. Trusting God to never leave her side through all the strife she endured. This led to the valuable examples of her many blessings over time. She married a loving second husband and restored her relationships with her children. Darlene has had many miracles throughout her life. From the fifteen surgeries she endured, to the total healing from her faithful God, she has overcome many difficult situations. Through it all she has kept her faith and hope in God.
“I pray that my book will be an inspiration to the next generation of all ages,” states the author. “I hope readers will see the need to keep their faith in God and that He is there for them in their times of need. Keep your Hope in God!”
Darlene Maydee credits her sharp photographic memory – a blessing given to her by the Lord – for helping to recall her life when writing this book. Throughout the years, she collected a box full of the many daily writings that she recorded. Writing her thoughts down on paper was not only an enjoyable past time but also served as a stress reliever during troubled times. She thanks God for the ability and experience to help others in their struggles of life.
