Award-Winning Pet Care Company Adds to Fleet of Vans

Woofie’s, a leading pet care service company based in Ashburn, today celebrates its fourth year of providing mobile pet spa services in Eastern Loudoun County, VA and also announced the addition of its fifth mobile pet spa van.

Ashburn neighbors Leslie Barron and Amy Reed started Woofie’s eleven years ago as a pet sitting and dog walking business. It has since grown into a thriving, full-service pet care company in the Loudoun County area. Loyal clients trust in and rely on Woofie’s to care for their beloved pets in their absence; they provide pet sitting visits, overnight care, mid-day dog walking visits and pet taxi services 7 days a week for over 5000 clients in the Ashburn and Lansdowne area. In 2011 with a bootstrap investment, Woofie's added mobile pet spa services to their offering and now have a fleet of luxury vans operating 7 days a week.

“Early on in our business it was clear there was a significant need for mobile pet spa services and that it would be a natural extension of our existing pet sitting and dog walking business,” said Barron. “We offer a unique value proposition for our clients by coupling these two synergistic services. With Woofie’s, clients don’t have to be home for their grooming appointments; we have the ability to groom our clients’ pets while they are at work or on vacation if they so choose. Conversely, our mobile pet spa clients can call on us for pet sitting and dog walking services whenever they are needed.”

Earlier this year Woofie’s opened its first office in Ashburn. The 3000 square foot location offers a pet-friendly office work space, a dining area for the employees and indoor parking for the mobile pet spa vans. Woofies stocks a full inventory room with an array of high-end products so groomers can customize each pet spa service. Woofie’s partners with local businesses on cross-marketing opportunities both in the community and via social media networking.

“When I started managing the pet spa for Woofies in 2012 there were 100 grooming clients, one van and two groomers,” said Renee Ventrice, Director of Mobile Pet Spa Services for Woofie’s. “Now, three years later, we have over 1500 active grooming clients, five vans, 10 groomers and two bathers. We also have custom pet spa software designed specifically for the needs of our groomers and clients. We are very excited about all the changes and we look forward to aggressively growing our service footprint.”

Unlike a typical mobile groomer, who normally manages every aspect of their business, Woofie’s groomers have a unique opportunity to focus exclusively on grooming due to the back-end support they receive from the Woofie’s scheduling and customer service team. The Woofie’s groomers service a built-in clientele from established pet sitting customers and a successful loyalty program that books clients with regular appointments up to one year in advance. The custom software combined with the coordination between groomers, pet sitters and back-office support team provides a seamless, integrated offering designed to enhance and simplify the customer experience.

Woofie’s reputation for professionalism, reliability and personalized customer care has led to multiple awards from Northern Virginia Magazine, Washingtonian Magazine and Posh Seven Magazine. Woofie’s has been featured on NBC News 4 and Fox 5 News and they were named one of the Top 100 Small Businesses by the US Chamber of Commerce in 2015. Woofie’s is a member of Pet Sitters International (PSI) and the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS).

The Woofie’s mobile pet spa service area currently includes Ashburn, Aldie, Lansdowne, Leesburg, Sterling and South Riding. Future plans include expansion into Fairfax County.
