Square Root, an Austin-based Software as a Service (SaaS) company that provides store relationship management solutions for multi-unit enterprises, today announced the launch of its store visit mobile app, CoEFFICIENT.

With the launch of the native iOS mobile app, Square Root extends the benefits of the company’s CoEFFICIENT web application, which delivers actionable data insights to better align organizations, increase transparency, encourage collaboration, and improve store performance for some of the world’s largest and most complex retail and automotive enterprises.

The app leverages mobile functionality and phone features to give district managers the ability to quickly and easily complete key in-store tasks directly on their phones, allowing for more efficient store visit documentation and action planning and ensuring more accurate reporting. Features include the ability to quickly snap photos around the store, take hands-free notes using voice dictation and capture follow-up items, with an easy-to-use, intuitive interface that doesn’t require extensive training. The app then automatically syncs with the CoeFFICIENT web application across desktops, laptops and tablets, allowing for increased visibility and improved communications across the entire organization, from store managers all the way up to the corporate office.

“For years, CoEFFICIENT has helped companies better leverage data to drive real improvements in their organization,” said Chris Taylor, CEO of Square Root. “District managers play a critical role in improving store performance, and we recognized the need for a tool that was built specifically for their function and their mobile lifestyle.”

The mobile app aims to address key district manager pain points that were highlighted in a recent national survey from Square Root, District Managers: The Links That Turn Corporate Strategy into Reality, including:

  • A high volume of work: 78% of district managers having responsibility for up to 15 stores.
  • The on-the-go nature of the job: up to 50% of each work week is spent on the road, preparing for, conducting and reporting on store visits.
  • The challenge of piecing together antiquated, disparate tools and devices: When it comes to preparing for, conducting and reporting on store visits, district managers cited switching between paper/printouts, laptops, phones, tablets and desktops, and, without sophisticated software for assistance, still rely on spreadsheets, email and word processing tools.

“When it comes to driving improvements in the stores in real-time, mobile is the most critical component,” said Mike Ditson, VP of Product at Square Root. “The app helps district managers get action plans into the right hands and moving forward faster than ever before. Every addition and improvement we make to the CoEFFICIENT platform is a result of direct feedback we hear from our community of users. Until now, a native mobile app has been the missing piece of the puzzle.”

The app is available for download in the Apple store and is immediately available to all current Square Root customers.
