There’s no shortage of mobile retail solutions available, but many lack the necessary consumer engagement and revenue drivers. Retailers’ number one challenge is getting more people to actually walk into their stores - StepsAway CEO Allan Haims
LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) November 10, 2015
Celebrating a year since its marketplace launch, in-mall mobile retail solution StepsAway today announced four new mall deployments in Taubman shopping centers. This move continues StepsAway’s high growth trajectory with an anticipated deployment of its browser-based mobile app in 40 regional shopping centers across the U.S. for the upcoming holiday shopping season.
Since StepsAway’s launch, the company has more than quadrupled its presence in malls nationwide. In-mall mobile shoppers have viewed over 20 million offers on the mobile app, which requires no download and is accessible via each center’s free guest Wi-Fi network. On average, a retailer’s offers in a month are viewed more than 15,000 times in each mall. Additionally, time-sensitive flash sales on StepsAway have generated double-digit percent redemption rates.
“There’s no shortage of mobile retail solutions available, but many lack the necessary consumer engagement and revenue drivers. Retailers’ number one challenge is getting more people to actually walk into their stores,” said Allan Haims, CEO of StepsAway. “Over the last year, StepsAway has given retailers an innovative way to reach and influence on-property consumer purchase decisions with dynamic, tailored offers designed to influence shoppers at the closest point of purchase, as well as empowers mall owners to increase sales per square foot.”
New Taubman shopping centers that will implement StepsAway by the end of this year include The Mall at Short Hills (Short Hills, NJ), Westfarms (West Hartford, CT), The Mall at Green Hills (Nashville, TN), and The Mall at University Town Center (Sarasota, FL).
“Since we began using StepsAway, we’ve seen a double-digit percentage increase in the volume of consumers using our free mall Wi-Fi networks and taking advantage of hyperlocal in-mall offers,” said Ivan Frank, director of digital marketing, Taubman Centers. “Expanding our StepsAway footprint is part of our larger strategy to offer a higher value digital experience to consumers visiting Taubman malls nationwide.”
Through StepsAway’s patent-pending cloud-based technology platform, SAConnect™, national retailers can create and deliver promotions across multiple mall properties and mall owners, from their corporate headquarters on a single platform.
Shoppers visiting any of StepsAway’s participating malls simply sign onto the mall’s free Wi-Fi network and then peruse deals via StepsAway’s SAMobile™ app by product category or store name. The browser-based app is compatible on any Wi-Fi enabled device including all Apple, Android and Windows mobile devices.
