Nikki Babbitt, Senior Manager, Healthcare Solutions at Top Tier Consulting (T2C), a premier healthcare management consulting firm providing world class consulting for major healthcare organizations, shared her thought leadership recently at the World Congress Value-Based Network and Contract Management Summit. The event, held in Alexandria, Virginia, gathered together C-level executives from healthcare organizations to share the challenges and successes they have seen around network strategy, risk-based contracting, and alternative payments.

Ms. Babbitt was one of three panelists in a discussion titled "From Soup to Nuts: How to Leverage your Processes to Maximize the Value of the Provider Network." Ms. Babbitt, along with moderator Mike Neff Regional Sales Manager from Newgen Software, and co-panelists Ashish Deshmukh, AVP Healthcare Business Development from Newgen Software, and Renee Santana, Director, Provider Configuration at Wellcare Health Plans, held a compelling discussion that uncovered the main pain points providers are seeing during the contracting process, and offered insights into how to address them.

"Health plans and their customers derive significant benefit from high value provider networks, but to take full advantage of those networks, health plans have to develop transparency and maintain strong provider relationships," said Ms. Babbitt. "Naturally, there are going to be roadblocks along the way, and during our panel discussion, we brought out some of the more innovative ways payers and providers are overcoming those obstacles that occur during the network and contract management processes."

The panelists also covered the tools and best practices used by network managers to maximize success, and held a lively discussion on the role technology plays in optimizing the end-to-end processes so that health plans can develop, manage, and leverage their relationships.
The event was held October 27-28 at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center, and was focused on helping attendees develop strategies to improve value-based contracting measures, and provider-payer relations.
