Houston area manufacturer preps for aerospace expansion
Sugar Land, Texas (PRWEB) November 09, 2015 -- In conjunction with their 25th year of service, a Texas-based precision machining and electronic manufacturer is completing a three-tiered expansion project aimed at growing the company’s services in the aerospace sector.
Located in Sugar Land, near Houston, Systronix Inc. has already completed stage one of the project which included an expansion of its existing facility to 50,000 sq. ft. and obtaining all relative aerospace quality certifications. The company’s manufacturing capabilities now include electrical assembly and advanced manufacturing of precision metals.
Like most businesses in the Houston area, the company has been focused on energy, said Systronix President, Gary Kerbow.
“In an effort to diversify our customer base, we obtained our AS9100 Quality Certification, a standardized quality management system for the aerospace industry,” he said. “This has positioned Systronix to grow into the aerospace industry and has differentiated the company from many of our competitors in the Houston area.”
The Texas manufacturer has already begun stage two as well, financially committing to land with the Rosenberg Business Park, a 184 acre property located in Rosenberg, Texas. Systronix was the first company to place a contract on the park.
Retaining growth-oriented primary employers like Systronix is critical in the creation of additional jobs, wages, and investment into the area, said City of Rosenberg’s Economic Development Director, Randall Malik.
“Companies with the tenure of Systronix, that have achieved growth and expansion while enduring multiple business cycles, help to provide sustainability to the local economy,” he said.
As part of stage two, the company hopes to build a 100,000 sq. ft. facility on the property leading to the potential of 150 new jobs.
Systronix officials have designed stage three of the project around reachable milestones in clientele and revenue. Within five years, the company anticipates growth into a $50 million business with no more than 25 percent involvement in medical, energy, aerospace, or military and defense.
In recent years, the company has also invested over $6 million in capital equipment to expand their electronics manufacturing, engineering design and precision metal machining capabilities.
As part of their project announcement and 25th anniversary, the company will host an event at its facility in Sugar Land, Texas on Dec. 10.
