Balluff is pleased to announce a new member to the IO-Link product family - the extra-long PROFINET based IO-Link master block with 16 IO-Link ports.

With this new module, Balluff has doubled the previous number of available ports and increased the capacity of each individual port. This industrial Ethernet-based module enables applications that require high bandwidth without compromising data transfer rate.

Process up to 480 I/O signals
If sensor/actuator hubs are connected to this IO-Link master, up to 256 I/O signals can be processed. When this 16 port master is combined with Balluff expansion I/O hubs, up to 480 I/O signals can be processed. Users now have the ability to get the most out of the single PROFINET's node, by communicating to numerous smart devices and building the I/O architecture.

More intelligence per port: 32 bytes
Each IO-Link port can transmit up to 32 bytes of process data in cyclical form. At the same time, parameter or diagnostic data can be transmitted acyclically at each port. Total capacity of this module is 1024 bytes of process data.

Additional features: display, integrated switch, and webserver
Like all other PROFINET modules from Balluff, this 16 port master has an integrated display for information and diagnostics. Its integrated switch serves to establish a PROFINET line structure. Also, the built-in full service webserver shows the status of the module, allows configuration per port, and offers advanced diagnostics.
