The City of Arroyo Grande’s Christmas in the Village, Concert, and Parade Is Poised to be Better than Ever
Arroyo Grande, CA (PRWEB) November 12, 2015 -- Holiday traditions run deep throughout Central California. Through the years, various communities in the Central Coast have created a festive community holiday event, whether it is a parade or a show. The City of Arroyo Grande in San Luis Obispo County brings community involvement to a new level. With the holiday season upon them, they look forward to bringing the community together again with their holiday themed events that include Christmas in the Village, Concert, and Parade followed by the Tree Lighting Ceremony.
Arroyo Grande’s Christmas in the Village is an annual holiday event in downtown that allows everyone to enjoy a wonderland of lights throughout the Village during the month of December. Christmas in the Village commences on Saturday, November 29, 2015 with holiday festivities that the community and visitors can enjoy in the company of Old St. Nick. Santa Claus will be in the Village of Arroyo Grande from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays as well as from noon to 4:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday throughout the month.
The Christmas Concert and Parade will also take place on November 29th. These two events mark the beginning of the Holiday season in Arroyo Grande. The Christmas Parade has been a part of the City’s tradition and a community favorite since its inception in 2003. This year the Arroyo Grande annual Christmas Parade will begin at 5pm at the Short Street and Branch Street intersection—between Rooster Creek and Gina’s Restaurant. Community members and visitors that want to attend are encouraged to arrive early to get a better view of the parade. Additionally, Grace Bible Church’s 50-voice Christmas music choir will be performing before the parade singing carols and hymns at the Rotary Bandstand in Heritage Square Park at 3:30pm.
As tradition calls, the Tree Lighting Ceremony and Live Nativity Scene will be presented by church members and will commence after the end of the parade at Harvest Church (116 W. Branch Street). Additionally, a free showing of the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” will begin at 6:30pm at The Spot Theater, which is located next to Harvest Church.
The holiday celebrations continue on Sunday, December 6, 2015 when the City of Arroyo Grande will welcome back its annual Elegant Christmas in the Village. This is another holiday event for the whole community to enjoy as even businesses take part in the celebration. Store owners and employees will be dressed in holiday attire as luminaries will line the Village streets for a festive touch. There will be live music and entertainment during the duration of Elegant Christmas in the Village, and businesses will be open late.
Arroyo Grande’s holiday festivities are poised to attract people from all around San Luis Obispo County and the Central Coast. The community will come together again and welcomes everyone to participate in this annual holiday tradition. It all begins on Saturday, November 29, 2015 and will continue throughout the month of December.
