Casper Stockham Announces Prominent Senator from Louisiana Elbert Guillory to Endorse him for Denver’s Congressional District 1
Denver, Colorado— (PRWEB) November 24, 2015 -- On May 31, 2013, Senator Elbert Guillory made waves on the national political scene when he switched his long-standing political affiliation from the Democrat Party to the Republican Party. He recorded a short video that went viral on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_YQ8560E1w) and he became an overnight sensation in Republican ranks. Over 500,000 watched the video on YouTube and millions more heard the audio on Rush Limbaugh and other Conservative radio talk shows.
On December 17–19, 2015, Senator Guillory will visit Colorado and will speak at several events to endorse and advance the candidacy of fellow black Republican Casper Stockham. Locations and times for the specific itinerary may be found on the campaign website under events.
Senator Guillory's purpose in coming to Denver is to help small businessman Casper Stockham in his quest to be elected to Congress in Denver's coveted Congressional District 1 (CD1), currently held by 18 year incumbent Diana DeGette (D). In addition, CD1 has been held by a Democrat for over 40 years. Some in the Republican Party see a challenge to the incumbent in CD1 as a nice gesture but a waste of time and money.
Mr. Stockham does not agree with naysayers; “I have a very non-traditional campaign strategy that focuses on the homeless, veterans and J.O.B.S! Also we’re reaching into the Black and Brown communities and the communities of faith like no other candidate. We have a compelling plan to win.” If Mr. Stockham is successful in his bid to become the next Congressman in CD1 he will be the first Black Congressman elected from the great state of Colorado.
Senator Guillory’s trip will conclude with a Freedom Gala at Afrikmall and put on by Luckii Productions, both local Black-owned businesses. Local author and speaker William Owens will share a few words and Mr. Guillory will be the key note speaker for the event. The evening will also include food, prizes, music, dancing and a mock debate with people playing presidential candidates from both sides of the political aisle. The mock-debate will be moderated by local radio personalities Larry Stevenson and Kris Cook.
The Casper Stockham and Elbert Guillory team will visit local radio and TV shows when the senator is in town. If you would like them to talk with you, please contact the campaign. They will also visit political groups, homeless shelters and will even do some door to door outreach in district neighborhoods. http://www.casperforcolorado.com
