Midtown West Goes Green With Eco-Investment That Partners with The Sun
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 13, 2015 -- The Atelier Condo has commanded attention since it rose up at 11th Ave. and 42nd St. in Midtown West in 2007 to become the most luxurious residential tower that doubles as an exclusive universe unto itself. The building was designed by the award-winning architectural firm, Costas Kondylis & Partners and is self-managed by the Board President Daniel Neiditch who continues to add amenities and cut costs.
By installing new solar panels on the roof this building will become the tallest residential solar array in the country. Dan Neiditch, president of River 2 River Realty which operates the Atelier, had the panels installed in 2011, the next generation of panels will be installed in 2016. He says the system generates about 5 percent of the building's energy, subsequently cutting utility costs by roughly $40,000 a year.
There are a variety of manufacturers and installation options. Whether buying, leasing or stepping into a payment plan is the right move is a decision based on your energy consumption and cost calculations, and budget. If the property has limited roof space or yard space the number of panels, you can effectively install will determine how to optimize savings. Complete solar solutions providers will assess roof space, panel production, panel size and cost to find the optimal solution for each situation. Make sure your solar company is evaluating multiple manufacturers to find the best possible solution for your home or business.
"Our next-phase solar project arrives in the spring, and we're going to add another 100 panels to the side of the building," says Neiditch. “Another hundred panels equals even more savings for the building already boasting the lowest maintenance cost per square foot in NYC.”
If your electric bill is greater than $150 a month, you can save money, with no money down, by buying your electricity from solar panels rather than the electric company. Installing solar panels on your residential or commercial structure can reduce your energy consumption and lower your energy costs.
Neiditch further states: "That gives us another 10 percent of our energy. So overall we're looking at about $120,000 in savings per year. We've already made back our money from our initial investment after a year and a half," he said. “Not only will these next 100 panels provide additional savings to the owners but will overall decrease our carbon footprint.”
Neiditch says using the energy savings to reinvest in the Atelier building with additional upgrades is the best strategy. Samba energy installed the initial solar panels and will also be providing the additional 100 panels in 2016.
According to Neiditch, “We are also in the process of installing motion detectors that activate the lights on each floor - which puts us closer to our goal of becoming greenest building not just in the city, but the entire country.”
