The Original Inside Pocket Company Launches Luxury Hoodies with Special Features to Encourage Drivers to Put the Brakes on Distracted Driving
Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) November 12, 2015 -- The Original Inside Pocket Company (TOIPC ) is on a mission to solve one of the most dangerous and ubiquitous social and behavioral issues of our time; being distracted constantly by technology. Distracted living, and worse, distracted driving kills nine Americans every day and injures another 1,100, according to the CDC (Center for Disease Control).
The Original Inside Pocket Company today launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to effect change and to raise funds for End Distracted Driving (EndDD.org).
The crowdfunding campaign features luxury lifestyle apparel that encourages people to make smarter decisions about when & where to use their technology. Featuring multiple inside pockets and the acronym T.H.U.M.B (Teaching Humans Universal Mobile Behavior) a portion of the proceeds of all pre-orders will be donated to EndDD.org Their mission is to preserve life and promote safety on a large scale through advocacy, education and action.
Joel Feldman, the founder of EndDD.org started this initiative in memory of his daughter Casey who was struck by a distracted driver in 2009 while using a crosswalk in daylight hours. Feldman is teaming up with TOIPC to raise awareness and to help prevent parents from having to endure a devastating loss. In memory of Casey, one of the ladies’ hoodie designs is called “The Casey”.
“Given that I couldn’t bring Casey back the next best thing is to do good work in her memory,” said Feldman. “Our organization educates young people about the dangers and consequences of distracted driving, and we believe that The Original Inside Pocket Company’s stand is a positive step toward raising awareness and changing behavior.”
The Original Inside Pocket Company Founder Brad Dubrowsky and his partner Jamie Zaroff hope to raise consciousness with their team’s motto: T.H.U.M.B. = “Teaching Humans Universal Mobile Behavior.” Each jacket is designed with a signature red exclamation mark on the back right side, a call-to-action to pay attention to your surroundings. Dubrowsky is encouraging people to connect in life in person, not virtually on a phone.
“Like everyone else, I carry my phone with me everywhere and the temptation to look at it constantly is very difficult to resist.” says Dubrowsky. “Eight or nine years ago, I started sewing inside pockets into my favorite sweatshirts and shirts as a place to store my phone. I felt it would keep me safe. That was how our name came about - The Original Inside Pocket Company.”
Dubrowsky’s message is so relevant that Art Miami, America’s foremost and No.1 attended international contemporary art fair, partnered with TOIPC in their mission to end distracted living. Art Miami will offer attendees the opportunity to acquire branded Art Miami / TOIPC activewear at its 26th edition this December 1-6 during Art Week Miami.
“This will be the first retail launch of our brand to the very distinguished audience at the world-renowned Art Miami fair and it’s a great opportunity to share our universal message of Look @ Art, not your phone,” added Dubrowsky.
Quality and luxury never have to be sacrificed in the name of safety. All internal pockets and seams are reinforced with triple needle cover stitching, allowing for stretch and movability. The rib is a 2x2 knit, made with Lycra for maximum stretch and shape recovery. Zippers are anodized metal YKK 2-way technology, allowing the coats to be zipped down from the neck or zipped up from the waist.
The Original Inside Pocket Company products are made in boutique factories in small batches. The design team has a combined 30+ years in the fashion industry. Workmanship is guaranteed for 10 years of free mending.
