Drug Addiction Therapy and Residential Treatment Program Professionals Unplug on River Trip to Grand Canyon
Flagstaff, AZ (PRWEB) November 12, 2015 -- This month Back2Basics (B2B) Outdoor Adventure Therapy, Bodhi Casa Sober Living and Spring Ridge Academy joined forces to bring professionals in the fields of mental health therapy, drug addiction intervention and residential treatment programs together to unplug for a week in the Grand Canyon.
Roy DuPrez, founder and CEO of B2B started the annual professionals trip and tour in hopes of taking like-minded experts from around the United States out of the office and into nature.
The group was lead by Flagstaff outdoor guides for camping, river rafting, and hiking through the Grand Canyon.
“I have travelled the world, and this is one of the top trips I’ve ever taken in my life,” said James Kay, therapist at the Life Adjustment Team based in Los Angeles, CA. “I spend my life taking care of others and this really recharged my battery.”
Disconnecting with life as residents once knew it to be, is at the core of the B2B long-term residential program. The professionals experienced this first-hand.
“Nature is one of the most therapeutic remedies out there for anyone,” said Stefan Kocev, owner and operator of Bodhi Casa Sober Living. “[At B2B] residents don’t flat line in the monotony that outpatient therapy can sometimes prove.”
This was B2B primary therapist Keelyn Riley’s third time on the trip and “by far her favorite… a great group [whose] synergies flowed well.”
“For me, this trip always takes me back into my inner layers of being, far away from the outside busy world. I peel back and remember who I am, again.”
