The Canadian Centre for Addictions is Now Offering an ‘Aftercare Program for Life’ for Clients Who Complete the Program
Toronto, ON (PRWEB) November 12, 2015 -- In October 2015, the Canadian Centre for Addictions started offering ‘Aftercare Program for Life’ for residents that complete their program, at no extra expense.
One factor that makes this extended and free program so important is that while initial treatment is vital, what clients do after it ends is crucial to their treatment and their ability to avoid relapse. The Canadian Centre for Addictions makes a point to help people continually remain sober even after the minimum of 30 day’s program is completed.
Every client who participates in the initial program qualifies for ‘Aftercare Program for Life’, free of charge. This service would otherwise cost thousands of dollars per year.
‘Aftercare Program for Life’ consists of clients being able to attend weekly group sessions at the Centre's office in Toronto. These group sessions allow for people to connect and communicate with others facing similar challenges, acting as a form of stress relieving therapy.
With these sessions, the hope is to facilitate a confidential, safe space where people will feel supported, considering the centre is located in a smaller community. These meetings are led by a substance abuse aftercare specialist who offers sessions as a stepping stone for people to achieve sobriety.
Another way the Centre goes above and beyond to show support for their clients is the ‘Guarantee’ they offer; clients who stay for a minimum of 45 days are ‘Guranteed’ a chance to come back and stay for another two weeks if they find themselves struggling. Usually, these extra couple of weeks are enough to stabilize a client by reminding them of the tools they learned in the program and get them moving in the right direction again. These two weeks are worth close to $8,000 but are guaranteed to the clients at no additional cost.
“Substance Abuse programs are extremely important. The work that’s needed once a program is complete is crucial in maintaining sobriety. Continual care for life is a great way to sustain the work that people have put in to preserve their stability," said Darren Chilewitz, business development specialist.
Access to the Canadian Centre for Addictions is efficient and without long waiting times. Their hope is to stand out from other programs by offering the guarantee of continual care.
The Canadian Centre for Addictions is continually on the lookout to improve their programs. Not only are they adding nurses to their staff, but in early 2016, they will be moving from their current office to bigger premises in order to accommodate more patients and better care.
