The Honorable Laurent S. Lamothe, LSL World Initiative founder and former Prime Minister of the Republic of Haiti, will deliver a keynote address at the National Association of Haitian Professionals (NAHP) Annual Conference on November 14, 2015. Focusing on the interrelated themes of advocacy, philanthropy and social entrepreneurship in the context of uniting and strengthening Haiti and its Diaspora, the NAHP Annual Conference brings together dominant thinkers on Haitian government development and civil society to discuss effective collaboration. The fourth annual conference will begin on November 12 and conclude with The Golden Honors Award Gala on November 14 at Florida International University’s (FIU), Key Biscayne campus in Miami, Florida.
“I am honored to partake in the NAHP Annual Conference and to be in the company of such distinguished leaders in government, business, entrepreneurship, academia and social advocacy,” said Laurent S. Lamothe. “The NAHP plays a critical role in inspiring the professional achievement of the Haitian people, and I look forward to a productive and effective dialogue about how to engage, uplift and support Haiti’s students and professionals in a competitive global workforce. I am grateful to the NAHP for creating this platform to allow increased collaboration between Haiti and its Diaspora in order to sustain social and economic development.”
Specifically, Laurent Lamothe’s address will center on the untapped potentials of Haiti, especially in the field of innovative financing. Haiti, says Lamothe, is an example of a developing country finding innovative ways of being more self-sustainable in the future.
The NAHP Annual Conference’s panel discussions, debates and workshops will focus on the following:
- Professional advancement strategies that prepare students and professionals for a competitive global workforce.
- Forging a viable advocacy framework for governments from origin and destination countries to effectively collaborate with the Haitian Diaspora and NGOs for the improvement of Haiti’s social and economic development.
- Share knowledge of philanthropic and social entrepreneurship opportunities related to improved social and economic success in Haiti.
