Greenberg Traurig Prevails in Injunction Hearing, Clears Path for Construction of $168 Million Henderson Hospital
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) November 13, 2015 -- Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP recently prevailed at a preliminary injunction hearing on behalf of its client, Valley Health System, a network of five acute care hospitals in southern Nevada. The case number is A-15-723093-C.
Judge Ronald Israel in the Eighth Judicial District Court declined to grant plaintiff Nevada West Petroleum, LLC’s motion, seeking to postpone off-site drainage improvements associated with the construction of the Henderson Hospital. The $168 million, 142-bed facility is slated to open in October 2016 and will employ 700 people. It will offer general, specialty, and emergency care, as well as women’s services, including labor and delivery rooms, C-section suites, and a newborn nursery. Henderson Hospital is being built on 30 acres of the planned $1.2 billion Union Village health care complex, a 170 acre mixed-use development to be built over the next decade.
The Greenberg Traurig team was led by Litigation Practice Shareholder Eric Swanis and Associate Whitney Welch.
“I am very pleased with the outcome,” said Swanis. “The Henderson Hospital will be an invaluable addition to our community, and we are happy to have taken part in efforts toward ensuring its development.”
Based in the firm’s Las Vegas office, Swanis is an experienced trial lawyer who represents local, national, and international companies in a wide array of complex litigation matters.
