With the holiday season upon us, employers are beginning to hire temporary employees. To accommodate its clients, Corra Group is offering special low cost packages to assure comprehensive background checks at fast turnaround.

Corra Group is preparing for the holiday hiring season by offering a suite of background checks that will assist employers in vetting temporary employees quickly an getting them on the job. The holiday employment screening package consists of the more fundamental searches that are offered at a discount.

“We try to give our clients a break, during the holiday season,” said Corra Group Co-Founder, Nick Gustavson. “We realize employers and hiring managers are under a lot of stress and the last thing they need is one more impediment to getting their temporary employees on the sales floor.

“Corra Group has trained its staff to offer the more essential background checks that can be bundled according to the needs of the holiday employer,” said Gustavson. “The package typically consists of criminal records checks, including the Nationwide Criminal Database search, which includes the sex offender registry, and the County Criminal Records Search. Typically, nothing more elaborate is needed for most temporary retail hires.

Gustavson noted that while Corra Group traditionally services brick and mortar clients, during the holiday season, there are increasingly more Internet based businesses that will also need to hire additional staff. He pointed out that these can range from food and services venues to selling such hard goods as electronics and clothing.

“Online sellers have expanded the concept of retail venues,” said Gustavson. “Both brick and mortar and online businesses need shipping staff and drivers. For these positions, Corra Group can offer Motor Vehicle Driving Records. The MVR Report returns in most states in sixty seconds and will help an employer decide if a job applicant is insurable or a liability risk. We will sometimes suggest Federal Criminal Records searches, when the employee has access to large amounts of money or the job requires interstate commerce. Gustavson added that Corra Group staff all but insists employers hiring holiday workers include the sex offender registry in their employment screening process. “Last year’s article in the CBS Houston is one of any number of articles the pop up, annually, revealing that the shopping center Santa Claus is a sex offender,” said Gustavson. “It is pretty alarming, actually, how many perverts are hired every year without a background check to play Santa Claus." And it is not just Santa Claus who during the holiday is working close to children. Other employees have easy proximity to kids as well.

“Which is why Corra Group had since its inception the cautionary slogan on its website and in all its marketing material,” said Gustavson. “We say ‘Check them Out Before You Hire.’ They are certainly words to live by.”
