Practice Invites its Patients to Discover the Revolutionary Treatment that Rejuvenates Skin Damaged by Florida Sun Exposure

“Halo represents an exciting innovation that has demonstrated the ability to restore a youthful, radiant glow to skin with sun damage, scars, spots, wrinkles and other imperfections with minimal downtime."

Holcomb – Kreithen Plastic Surgery and MedSpa, PLLC (“Holcomb – Kreithen”), one of the leading plastic surgery practices in Florida, is proud to announce that it is the first provider in the Sarasota and Tampa Bay area to offer the revolutionary Halo™ Laser therapy to its patients. Halo is the world’s first hybrid fractional laser system, and combines deep inner skin rejuvenation with dramatic outer skin renewal to produce a beautiful, healthy appearance without the downtime of more aggressive treatments.

Florida residents are fortunate to live in a place blessed with copious amounts of sunshine. However that same sunshine is very intense, especially in the summer, and can wreak havoc on skin. It is believed that up to 80% of our aging process in our skin is due to sun exposure. Over time, that can lead to sun spots, fine lines and wrinkles and loss of a healthy glow. For this reason, Holcomb – Kreithen is inviting its patients to discover the benefits available from Halo, which is quickly becoming the “gold standard” in laser skin rejuvenation that does not require extended downtime for recovery.

Until the development of the hybrid fractional laser, patients had to choose between an ablative CO2 laser treatment with significant downtime and a non-ablative laser treatment with no downtime but with far less effectiveness.

An ablative laser is considered the most effective treatment to improve signs of aging. However, the disadvantage of an ablative laser treatment is a fairly long recovery period of one to two weeks. By contrast, a non-ablative laser heats the outer layers of the skin but does not remove them, resulting in little or no downtime but requiring several treatments and ultimately achieving far less impressive results.

By combining both lasers, Halo laser therapy provides a previously impossible ability to deliver separate fractional laser treatments to the skin’s surface (epidermis) and deeper structures (dermis) at the same time. The treatment works by focusing energy on both the deeper and superficial layers of the skin. Halo offers results that are more similar to ablative laser treatments but with very little downtime, for the best of both worlds. And with the ability to independently target the epidermis and dermis, each treatment can be customized based on the patient’s unique needs and desired downtime.

Many patients experience noticeably improved skin tone and texture after a single treatment, though some choose to have two or three treatments for even more dramatic results. Normal activities can often be resumed the same day, making it ideal for people who work, as well as those with active lifestyles.

Commenting on the Halo Laser treatment, Holcomb – Kreithen practice co-founder, Dr. J. David Holcomb, said, “Halo represents an exciting innovation that has demonstrated the ability to restore a youthful, radiant glow to skin with sun damage, scars, spots, wrinkles and other imperfections. It allows us to help our patients reverse years of sun damage and obtain excellent results with minimum recovery time. This is the ideal outcome that we see from successful cosmetic technologies like Halo.”

He continued, “We are proud to be one the first practices in Florida to offer Halo treatments, and it reflects our commitment to introducing the most effective, state-of-the-art approaches to help patients look and feel their best.”
