The 10th Annual Winter Indian Market Draws Over 200 Artists From Across The United States & Canada to Santa Fe
Santa Fe, NM (PRWEB) November 16, 2015 -- The Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA) is pleased to announce that this year’s Winter Indian Market will commence with a preview at The Santa Fe Convention Center on November 27 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., coinciding with the annual Santa Fe Tree Lighting ceremony on the Plaza. Admission to the Winter Indian Market preview is $5 per person. The weekend market continues on Saturday, November 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, November 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entry is $10 per day, or $15 for a weekend pass.
Attendees of Friday night’s Tree Lighting ceremony on the Plaza are encouraged to visit the nearby convention center after participating in downtown Santa Fe’s holiday festivities. Over 200 artists from the United States and Canada will exhibit unique artworks from various art mediums, alongside performing artists and dancers with performances by The Ohkay Owingeh Women’s Choir, Robert Tree Cody, Fontanelle, and Adrian Wall.
SWAIA’s annual Festival of Trees silent auction will auction off Christmas trees throughout the weekend with awards presented to the ‘Best Decorated’, ‘Best Traditional’, and ‘People’s Choice’ trees. All silent auction proceeds will support SWAIA’s mission to create economic and cultural opportunities for Native American artists, and develop programs and events that support, promote, and honor Native artists year-round.
“Fundraisers like the Festival of Trees silent auction offer an opportunity to enlist local support for one of our city’s finest organizations. After almost 100 years, Indian Market is synonymous with Santa Fe and a treasured event in our community,” said Chief Development Officer John D. Jones.
