Washington, DC (PRWEB) November 16, 2015
Paladin Capital Group, the Washington DC based private equity firm, announces today that it is expanding into Europe with a dedicated Cyber Fund and has appointed Alex O’Cinneide as Managing Director, Head of Europe. Appointments to the Strategic Advisory Group include Professor Sir David Omand, former UK Security and Intelligence Coordinator, Permanent Secretary of the Home Office and Director GCHQ; Mary Aiken, director of the CyberPsychology Research Centre; and Sally Tennant, former CEO Kleinwort Benson Bank.
The Paladin Cyber Fund is investing in early stage technology across the US and Europe that enables, monitors and defends critical infrastructure, dependent on digital adoption and cyberspace. Cyber investing is forecast to grow substantially, driven by high spending by governments and the private sector on ‘technologies of need’ to protect proprietary information and critical infrastructure. Paladin Capital is a leading cyber investor and over the last ten years has delivered superior returns for its limited partners and built a body of cyber knowledge, specialist competence and deep networks in the cyber sector.
Michael Steed, Founder and Managing Partner, Paladin Capital said, “We are investing in innovative tech companies across the US, and now in Europe, that are developing solutions to the challenges of protecting critical infrastructure from cyber-attack. Paladin has the cyber expertise, capital and deep networks to help start-ups develop both the scale and joined-up products that governments and the private sector require. These companies are benefiting from the waves of new, urgent spending in the $3.8 trillion digital technologies and infrastructure markets.”
Paladin Capital Group has over $1 billion under management across multiple investment vehicles and has also actively invested in the renewable energy sector.
