Duncan, the Heart of the Chisholm Trail, is Bustling with Fun for the Whole Family and Will Start the Christmas Season Off Right This Weekend
Duncan, OK (PRWEB) November 18, 2015 -- Duncan is full of the holiday spirit this coming weekend with multiple family friendly activities and events that will bring out the season's spirits in everyone.
On Friday, November 20th The Chisholm Trail Heritage Center's "Campfires, Cattle and Cowboys Gathering is from 5 pm to 10 p.m. Meet your favorite cowboys and find the perfect gifts for the holidays from the poets booths or the Heritage Center's wonderful gift shop. Want to try your hand at cowboy poetry or singing? Or maybe you are an accomplished cowboy poet and have a new story or song to share? From 6 p.m. to 7:30 pm an Open Mic Story Swap, hosted by Steve Ribnikar, will certainly entertain. Beginning at 7:30-10 pm "The Headliners' hosted by Jay Snider, featuring luke Reed, Ron Secoy and Steve Ribnikar, will keep your toes tapping and your belly laughing. The longhorn herd will also be onsite for great photo opportunities.
On Saturday, November 21st, plan to shop downtown Main Street Duncan during their annual Holiday Stroll from 5-8 pm. Main Street Duncan merchants will offer special discounts and deals during this snack and shop event. Check out all the new merchandise just in time for the holidays. Food vendors, Christmas carolers, carriage rides and live music will fill the downtown district along with a special appearance from Santa Claus. Find the perfect gifts for your family and friends while you enjoy the holiday lights, music and shopping.
Just to add yet one more experience to the mix, plan to attend Duncan Little Theatre's final weekend of "Miracle on 34th Street". On Friday and Saturday night at The Simmons Center's Jack A Maurer Convention Center Theatre, the box office will open at 6:30 pm and the production will begin at 7:30 pm.
