Pearson Announces Support for 2015 Global Entrepreneurship Week
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 16, 2015 -- Pearson today announced a collaboration with DECA, Inc. to support the DECA Idea Challenge 2015 as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, the world’s largest celebration of entrepreneurs and innovators, Nov. 16-22, 2015. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. Pearson’s participation is part of its “Connect Learning to Earning” campaign focused on developing entrepreneurial skills within today’s students to prepare them for success in college and the world of work in a 21st century, global economy.
The DECA Idea Challenge 2015 fosters entrepreneurial thinking skills by daring students of all ages to think collaboratively as a team, create a new use for a commonplace item, and pitch their innovation in an engaging YouTube video in merely eight days. Additional information about the DECA Idea Challenge 2015 is available here.
Pearson Managing Director of Workforce Readiness Leah Jewell said, “Pearson is excited about this collaboration toward meaningful student engagement in the field of entrepreneurship, which will ultimately help learners build the knowledge and skills they need to gain and maintain employment in the 21st-century job market.”
During Global Entrepreneurship Week, Pearson will also co-host a live webcast, “Entrepreneurial Genome: Mapping the Educational DNA of Future Entrepreneurs,” with Canadian-based MaRS Discovery District. MaRS works with an extensive network of partners to help entrepreneurs launch and grow innovative companies.
