YouCaring Joins with Eagle & Badge Foundation of Los Angeles to Raise Funds to Assist LAPD Officers and Families

"We want to help Eagle & Badge to give back locally to the everyday heroes of the Los Angeles community."

YouCaring, the global leader in free online fundraising (, is partnering with the Eagle & Badge Foundation of Los Angeles, a nonprofit created by members of the Los Angeles Police Protective League and members of the community, to boost awareness and support for the organization’s mission. The partnership is designed to utilize crowdfunding to further the foundation’s efforts to fund causes important to Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers and their families.

“By harnessing the power of Compassionate Crowdfunding™, we want to help Eagle & Badge augment its programs to give back locally to the everyday heroes of the Los Angeles community in times of critical need and support causes that raise awareness for the foundation,” said Aimen Barma, Chief Marketing Officer of YouCaring. “In addition, we hope that this will inspire our YouCaring community to create similar campaigns within their own communities in an effort to unleash compassion.”

Launched in 2001, the Eagle & Badge Foundation has funded over 275 grants helping officers and their families in time of critical need, along with underprivileged children in the community, and much more. These cases have included funds for officers with major health issues from cancer to stroke and heart issues; mortgage and other expenses for an officer with a critically ill child, and three trained service dogs for different children of LAPD officers—each with autism that required a dog with special training to work with them and keep them safe. Eagle & Badge also supports community organizations with which the LAPD is involved, particularly those that serve at-risk or underprivileged children.

As part of the partnership, the Eagle & Badge Foundation is running crowdfunding campaigns on YouCaring that benefit LAPD officers and their families who are in need as well as causes important to them.

Active campaigns currently include Support the Eagle & Badge Foundation, a general fundraiser to attract donations for the foundation’s cases; Honor the End of Watch Memorial Wall, designed to support and raise awareness for the End of Watch Memorial Wall, a traveling exhibit dedicated to the 207 LAPD officers who have fallen in the line of duty; and Spread Awareness for the Eagle & Badge Foundation, which aims to raise money to purchase a new trailer that will enable the End of Watch Memorial Wall and Education Center to travel easily to more locations.

"The End of Watch Memorial Wall stands to show our respect and admiration for the officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice, and for their families who have given so much," said Peter R. Repovich, President of the Eagle & Badge Foundation. “As the wall travels, the Eagle & Badge Foundation travels. With that recognition, we hope people will become more aware of what we're doing and who we’re helping, and will want to support our efforts to help the officers and their families."
