LCR Hallcrest Donates UV Indicator Card to American Cancer Society
Glenview, IL: (PRWEB) November 19, 2015 -- LCR Hallcrest has donated 150,000 UV INDICATOR reusable cards to the American Cancer Society. These wallet sized cards are designed to measure approximate UV intensity with the intent of reminding individuals to protect themselves from the damaging effects of exposure to sun. This wallet sized card features a photochromic strip that changes color with exposure to the sun alerting the user to the presence of harmful UV rays. Sun safety tips and directions for use are noted on the back of the card.
The American Cancer Society distributed 15,000 of these cards at the Abbot Health & Fitness Expo held in concert with the Bank of America Marathon held on October 9 and 10th at the McCormick convention center in Chicago, where they were well received. The UV Indicator card will be distributed at future health and wellness fairs and expos to reinforce the necessity of using sunscreen and protecting the skin from overexposure to the sun.
