Morale Raise Money For Yorkhill Children's Charity
(PRWEB UK) 19 November 2015 -- Glasgow-based furniture retailer Morale Home Furnishings is hoping people can bear to donate a teddy this Christmas. As the festive period fast approaches, Morale has launched its Christmas appeal to raise money for Yorkhill children’s charity. The Glasgow charity is hoping to raise £150,000 this Christmas for a new cardiac scanner.
1 in every 100 babies being born in Scotland has a heart problem. Yorkhill is aiming to raise the money through donations and fundraising to purchase the new state-of-the-art equipment. The scanner will diagnose heart conditions faster for thousands of children in Scotland.
On Sunday, Morale Home Furnishing began asking the general public to donate their soft toys to their Glasgow showroom. For every soft toy donated, Morale will be sending £1 towards the Yorkhill Little Hearts appeal. The soft toys will be donated to charities like the Salvation Army.
Farooq Ali, Managing Director at Morale Home Furnishings said: “We took the decision to support Yorkhill this Christmas because of the invaluable support they provide to children and families in Scotland.
Most people have soft toys they want to clear out before Christmas, so we’re hoping we can gather in the teddy bears, while also supporting the children’s charity. We decided the teddy bear appeal was the perfect way to help children in Scotland at this time of the year.”
Pamela Chun from Glasgow visited Morale on Sunday to donate a teddy and said, “Yorkhill is an invaluable resource and particularly at this time of the year, donating a teddy while also raising money for the children’s charity is just one way to help. I’ve had to visit Yorkhill with my son, like most mums at some point, and the support and service they offer children is incredible.”
You can donate £5 to the Yorkhill Christmas appeal by texting YORKHILL to 70555 or by visiting http://www.yorkhill.org/yorkhills-little-hearts-appeal or Morale Home Furniture.
