Veteran Angel Investor Explains Startup Funding Strategies in New Kauffman Founders School Videos
Kansas City, Mo. (PRWEB) November 19, 2015 -- Many entrepreneurs need external funding to launch or grow their startup, but the idea of finding investors can seem daunting. In Financing Your Venture: Angel Investment, a new video series from Kauffman Founders School, Ian Sobieski teaches entrepreneurs how to find and work with investors.
As a founding general partner and managing director of the Band of Angels Fund, L.P., Silicon Valley's oldest angel investment group, Sobieski has counseled hundreds of entrepreneurs and understands their funding dilemmas. In seven brief videos, he helps entrepreneurs understand different types of investors, walks entrepreneurs through the process of locating and securing investors, and shares his insights on maintaining productive relationships over time.
“As an entrepreneur, you’re going to want to decide whether to raise money from an angel investor, a venture capitalist, from both or from neither,” Sobieski says. “Venture capitalists are a good source for a few million dollars to help prove a theory. Angel investors are well-suited for raising smaller amounts of money where advice is important.”
Sobieski’s videos complement another Kauffman Founders School video series, Financing Your Venture: Venture Capital, presented by Jeff Bussgang, a venture capitalist with Flybridge Capital Partners.
