Phoenix Companies Take Employee Wellness to the Next Level at the Fit Company Challenge
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) November 20, 2015 -- On November 7, 2015 hundreds of participants from companies located in the Phoenix area took part in the Fit Company Challenge, a corporate fitness event hosted by the Fit Company Institute providing area companies an opportunity to show the importance of living a fit and healthy lifestyle. Participants worked in teams of 3 to 4 towards completing a variety of fitness stations tailored to challenge the team member’s current fitness level and earn points towards their company’s overall score.
At the first inaugural event in Phoenix, Climatec LLC took the top company spot in this year’s Large Company division. “The Fit Challenge was an amazing experience that encouraged healthier habits and inspired team building,” said Jill Boileau, Employee Development Specialist and Team Captain of the Climatec Team. “Our goal at Climatec is to support a living well lifestyle and this challenge was the perfect opportunity to support our employees.”
AV Concepts took the top spot in the Medium Company division, and while excited for the win, their team captain stated the real benefits for their company’s participation, “At the end of the day, it’s not really about winning,” explained Lisa Repp, HR Supervisor at AV Concepts. “It’s about building camaraderie between team members in different departments who don’t normally get a chance to work together, and encouraging our employees to live healthier more active lifestyles.”
On event date, with the help of over 25 volunteers assisting the contenders, participants challenged their strength, conditioning, power, agility, and ended with a test of endurance in order to show their companies and colleagues that they practice what they preach. Participants used their involvement to bring out company team members, and family members to cheer them on and even run with them on the endurance course, which was the final course at the challenge.
The challenge was held at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, AZ, a short drive from downtown Phoenix.
