Save the Date for the SAE International 2016 Convergence – Ford Motor Company to Provide Executive Leadership
WARRENDALE, Pa. (PRWEB) November 19, 2015 -- SAE International announces dates for SAE 2016 Convergence, to be held Sept. 19-21 in Detroit.
For four decades, the SAE Convergence has brought together technology leaders from across the Globe to address the impact of electronics systems and the issues critical to mobility electronics implementation. This year’s event features a compelling line-up focusing on the most relevant issues surrounding electronics technology.
Ford Motor Company will provide Executive Leadership for the event. Three Ford executives will provide leadership in the planning and development of the meeting, including:
• Ken Washington, Vice President, Research and Advanced Engineering, Ford, who will serve as Convergence Executive Chair;
• Jim Buczkowski, Technical Fellow and Director, Electrical and Electronics Systems, Ford, who will serve as Convergence General Chair; and
• Anthony Cooprider, Senior Technical Leader, Vehicle EE Systems, Ford, who will serve as Convergence Technical Chair.
The theme for SAE 2016 Convergence will be “Personal Mobility – Creating a Smart and Autonomous Journey.” The meeting will explore the technology space that enables such smart mobility - electronics, embedded and off-board software, connectivity, autonomy, disruptive technology, and modes of transport. The innovation around these technology spaces is the foundation of personal mobility. Convergence explores these and other questions. How will automotive electronics and on-board and off-board software play a role in that? What are the new paradigms? What are the possibilities? What has to change to enable total convergence?
