Dan Ariely’s ‘Irrational Card Game’ Raises More Than $280,000 with a Wildly Successful Kickstarter Campaign
Durham, NC (PRWEB) November 19, 2015 -- Dan Ariely’s Irrational Card Game today wrapped-up an incredibly popular Kickstarter campaign which will make full production of the game a reality. Over 5,405 backers loved the concept and pledged a total of more than $280,000.
“I am humbled and thrilled with the reaction to our game and I would like to thank all of our backers for their support,” says creator Dan Ariely. “We cannot wait to send our backers their games and I’m confident they will enjoy playing it as much I as do.”
With the Kickstarter campaign complete the game is now available for pre-order on IrrationalGame.com. The special Kickstarter edition will be available until December 31st followed by the retail version.
The engaging game is a unique and fun way to incorporate social sciences and human behavior into strategic challenges. Dan Ariely, the renowned Duke University professor, author, speaker and founding member of the Center for Advanced Hindsight, created this game to challenge and entertain people who share his fascination with human behavior.
The Irrational Card Game includes numerous question cards that showcase human behavioral experiments in various categories, but predicting the results of these experiments isn’t enough to win the game. As part of the game mechanics, players can earn Power Cards that allow them to engage and challenge each other.
“Our unique and unusual social science experiments were a lot of fun to put together,” added Ariely. “The game will give our backers insights into their own behavior and the behavior of others – and maybe more important: get to think about what they want to change in their decision making.”
The game includes unusual and amusing experiments designed to keep players engaged and entertained and there is also a learning component. On the back of every question card players find a short takeaway – a summary of the conclusions reached by the scientists who conducted the real-world experiments, and all of the lessons learned.
