It’s easy to overlook travel insurance when planning a vacation, but it becomes a necessity anytime you book a trip for your family.

RoamRight, a leading provider of travel insurance and a division of Arch Insurance Company, has teamed up with Public Television’s Travel With Kids to promote family vacations around the world. The television show, which is in its 8th season, follows the Simmons family as they explore international destinations and educate families about the people and places of the world, all while helping parents navigate the logistics of traveling with children. RoamRight is an official sponsor for the 2015-2016 season of the show.

The collaboration means that the Travel With Kids audience will learn more about the importance of travel insurance while the Simmons family explores Hawaii, California, South Africa, Bora Bora, Mexico, Belize, China, Fiji, and Botswana.

“It’s easy to overlook travel insurance when planning a vacation,” says RoamRight’s senior vice president, Linda Fallon. “But it becomes a necessity anytime you book a trip for your family.” RoamRight has had many travel insurance cases that involved children – from trip cancellation to travel medical insurance claims. One family had to cancel their trip when their daughter developed strep throat. With travel insurance, they recouped their non-refundable airline tickets. A teenage son lost his cell phone in Europe; fortunately the family had coverage for stolen personal effects. One other family needed help finding and paying for a doctor abroad when their young child developed an ear infection after a long flight.

“We used our travel insurance when Seamus broke his foot in Vietnam,” says Carrie Simmons, mom of the Travel With Kids family. “Not only did they cover the medical expenses, they paid to change our airline tickets and for a hotel while we waited to get his foot cast. It made it much easier to continue our journey and gave us peace of mind knowing that we have insurance protection to help take care of those costs.”

“We hope that, through this collaboration with Travel With Kids, more families will see the valuable protection that travel insurance provides,” says Fallon.
