Signal360 and Discover Burien Add Beacons and Geofence Notification Technology to Enhance the Shopper Experience
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) November 23, 2015 -- Burien area residents and visitors are being delighted with a new interactive technology, powered by Signal360, intended to enhance the consumer experience. The campaign is currently scheduled to last through 2015 and 2016 plans are being finalized. Leading the charge in testing proximity engagements by deploying iBeacon™ technology, a group of small business owners in the Pacific Northwest are focused on the interactive shopper experience. Signal360, the premier proximity marketing provider, with more than four years experience and a complete, turnkey platform, integrated seamlessly into the Burien locations. Beacons have been installed, with more to deploy soon, and notifications are being delivered using the “New&Now” mobile application, available for iPhone and Android devices.
The benefits to the small retailers, salons, restaurants, and healthcare facilities are significant. With a focus on informative notifications, businesses can deliver details about upcoming events, menu item specials, program offerings, and links to customer loyalty and social media pages, based on the physical proximity of the shopper. Beacons have been used to advertise local events like the Burien Brat Trot, the Boo in Burien, and the upcoming Shop Small Saturday (November 28th) and Winterfest (December 5). Andrea Reay, Executive Director of Discover Burien, a non-profit service organization dedicated to economic development and community engagement in Burien, noted, “Encouraging residents and visitors to shop local is always our primary focus, and using technology to increase commerce is key to our success. We are thrilled to partner with the leader in proximity marketing to deploy this campaign. The Signal360 team has been instrumental in the development of use cases, secure and seamless deployment and ongoing support.”
Security and privacy are key considerations of Signal360 in every beacon activation. For shoppers to receive notifications throughout the city, they must have the “New&Now” mobile application downloaded to their smart device. The “New&Now” app was created by the Signal360 staff with small business use in mind. “This particular app is very basic. It will give the user a snapshot of businesses in their area with proximity offers. Once the user comes within a specific proximity of a beacon, notifications and/or offers will appear on their phone,” states Alex Bell, CEO/Founder of Signal360. As end user experience is the primary goal of this campaign, business intelligence tools unique to the Signal360 platform, such as frequency caps, have been placed on messaging to ensure that consumers are not over messaged or spammed. This Seattle area based activation will further prove the impact of beacons on local businesses, and Signal360 expects numerous similar activations in the coming months.
