UBCF @GreenBayPackers Thanksgiving Day

Thank you to all of our supporters and those who have trusted UBCF to serve them. Go Packers!

The national nonprofit, United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) announces the debut of their newest Public Service Announcement (PSA) scheduled for released during the Green Bay Packers vs the Chicago Bears Thanksgiving Day home football game in Green Bay, Wisconsin on November 26, 2015. UBCF is honored to be a part of this event, increasing awareness of breast cancer and spreading UBCF’s mission to an estimated 80,000 people in attendance. The PSA will air on the Jumbo-tron 2 times per hour, making an estimated 375,000 impressions. During the event, UBCF representatives will be interviewing spectators, sharing information and letting attendees know that UBCF's seven life-supporting programs are available to women, men & families across the country. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 pm. Spectators at home can tune into the event on NBC Sports and watch for UBCF’s PSA’s on the Jumbo-tron.

The PSA focuses on UBCF’s seven life-supporting programs, thanking those that have supported UBCF throughout the year as well as spreading the word about early detection of breast cancer. It is a goal of UBCF to increase awareness of male breast cancer. According to the National Cancer Institute, this year an estimated 2,350 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 440 will lose their battle. One reason for such a high mortality rate in men is that often, men are not encouraged by health professionals to be screened or self-examine their breast tissue. UBCF encourages all men to learn the self-breast exam and be routinely screened by a doctor. People in need of support with the expense of a breast cancer screening may contact UBCF for assistance through the Breast Screening Program. This unique program services women and men with a free or low cost breast screening regardless of age, race, gender, ethnicity, income or medical insurance coverage.

“UBCF is pleased to be a part of the Packers Thanksgiving day game,” said UBCF’s Executive Director Ms. Stephanie Mastroianni. “As many people know, the Green Bay Packers is owned and operated by the ticket holders. UBCF operates in a similar way – as an organization of the people and for the people in the breast cancer community and beyond. Thank you to all of our supporters and those who have trusted UBCF to serve them. Go Packers!”

UBCF’s mission, to make a positive difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer is carried out every day through seven life-supporting patient and family programs, open and available to women, men and families across the country. UBCF never denies services to anyone regardless of age, race, gender, ethnicity, income or medical insurance coverage.
