Henderson, Tennessee (PRWEB) December 01, 2015 -- Henderson, a town of about 6,300 people, this year became the first area in rural West Tennessee to receive Gigabit Internet through expanded service provided by Aeneas Internet and Telephone.

Jones Lumber and Jones Contractors owner and operator Patricia Jones received the Internet upgrade in late summer. The change, she said, has helped employees stay connected with out-of-state office sites. “Since we have multiple offices, having faster Internet helps our server move quickly, as our employees file their paperwork out in the field,” Jones added.
“We’re able to download information faster,” said Dr. Larry Bloomingburg, a Henderson optometrist. “We used to have Internet down time a couple of times a month. If we ever have any issues or questions, now we contact Aeneas directly and not a call center.”
Aeneas Internet and Telephone’s Gigabit Fiber Network is capable of extremely high Internet speeds, reaching more than 1,000 Megabits (1 Gigabit) per second. Aeneas, a West Tennessee company, began offering services to Chester Countians in 1996 with the first dial-up Internet services in the county. Aeneas became a fully diversified telephone company in 2000, offering broadband Internet and voice over the Internet.
With an active Henderson/Chester County Chamber of Commerce, Henderson maintains the feel of a small town but is growing and improving thanks to a downtown revitalization project and new businesses in the heart of town. This year Chester County was also selected by the state as the first county to test iPads during its Nov. 17 special election. The Chester County Election Commission's use of iPads expedites the sign-in process for registered voters and maintains their information in a database. The mobile devices will replace traditional poll books.
