PRINCETON, NJ (PRWEB) November 24, 2015
Today marks the launch of CompetitorScreenshots.com, a service that was born out of the need to know exactly what the competition has done in weeks, months and years past. CompetitorScreenshots.com takes daily screenshots of over 10,000 of the top retail websites and allows a user to browse these historical screenshots to see what promotions or marketing messages competitors used each day. Historical email campaigns for most sites are also captured, as well as Facebook and Twitter posts. A Compare Mode shows side-by-side thumbnails of competitors, and users can opt-in to receive email alerts when any of the sites followed send out new email campaigns or social media posts.
In online retail, promotions and offers are an important driver of sales, and on Cyber Monday or the weeks leading up to Christmas a strong promotion can shift sales dramatically. There’s a delicate balance between increased sales and lost margin that is considered, aiming to provide a competitive offer while not giving away more than is needed. The critical piece of information in that equation is what the competition is likely to offer. While there’s no crystal ball, knowing what promotion competitors ran on their homepage and in email campaigns in prior years can provide valuable insight into what those companies might do this year.
Free registered accounts are available, giving users access to view all content up to 60 days in the past. In honor of Cyber Monday, though, CompetitorScreenshots is offering free registered users access to all historical data all the way back to to that date in 2014, allowing users to see what their competitors were promoting and messaging. This exclusive offer is available from now until January 1, 2016. Paid accounts are normally required in order to view content older than 60 days, and are available from $119 per month with no commitment.
