Local Small Business Sponsors Thanksgiving Dinner for Wounded Warriors & Their Families
Bethesda, MD (PRWEB) November 24, 2015 -- Concepts, Inc. is pleased to announce that the company is sponsoring this year’s Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Thanksgiving event.
Every year, Walter Reed hosts a Thanksgiving dinner free of charge to our nation’s wounded warriors who are undergoing care at the hospital and their families. It is an ongoing tradition that benefits many people in the DC metropolitan region and gives families the opportunity to spend the holiday together. In addition to a traditional Thanksgiving meal, the event includes entertainment such as arts and crafts for children of participating families.
Concepts’ president, Karen Herson, has volunteered at the event every Thanksgiving for the past three years, and this year wanted to do more by contributing the costs of the meals for wounded warriors and their family members. “For several years, being involved in this event has been a great experience to share with my family, especially my daughter, Sarah Vaughn, and niece and nephew, Molly and Kyle Herson,” said Herson, who also volunteers at Walter Reed on behalf of the Red Cross. “We are honored to be a part of this tradition and welcome the opportunity to give back in any way we can to the families who have given so much to us.”
The event will be held in the Warrior Café in Building 62, and will be serving meals from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wounded warriors and their families are encouraged to attend.
