The owners and employees are disappointed that this closure had to happen, but are committed to making the wind down and closing...as smooth as possible for its customers.
Hayward, CA (PRWEB) November 25, 2015
Nutek Corporation of Hayward has announced its pending closure. The company will cease operations and close its doors as of May 1, 2016, with no successor company taking over its operations. The Nutek Board of Directors made the decision to close as a result of the condemnation via eminent domain by the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) of the property it leases at 1001 Whipple Road in Hayward. Moving the company to a new location to continue in business proved not to be a viable option, which forced the Board to make the decision to cease operations and close the business.
Nutek Location to Become a BART Maintenance Yard
On December 27, 2013 the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) filed in Alameda County Superior Court to condemn through eminent domain Nutek’s premises at 1001 Whipple Road, in order to convert Nutek’s location, along with adjoining parcels, into a new BART maintenance yard. Nutek negotiated an extended stay to take care of long-term customer orders. Nutek pursued options for relocating the business. However, when it became clear that moving to another location would be economically unfeasible, the Board of Nutek determined that it has no choice but to wind down its business and close its doors. Nutek’s last day in business is May 1, 2016. With that in mind, Nutek is unable to accept any orders that cannot be filled before May 1, 2016.
There is no successor company affiliated with or supported by Nutek. The owners and employees are disappointed that this closure had to happen, but are committed to making the wind down and closing of Nutek as smooth as possible for its customers.
