MultiTech Unites with AT&T, ARM and Arrow to Host the “IoT – Prototype to Production Workshop”
Mounds View, MN (PRWEB) November 25, 2015 -- Multi-Tech Systems, Inc. a leading global manufacturer of M2M and IoT devices, today announced its sponsorship of the “IoT-Prototype to Production Workshop,” taking place on December 11, 2015 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm CST at the AT&T Foundry facility in Plano, TX. The workshop is co-sponsored with AT&T, ARM, and Arrow.
“We are fortunate to work with leaders like AT&T, ARM and Arrow and share their interest in educating the market on how to get effective IoT commercial solutions up and running using provided hardware platforms and mbed.org to create new connected prototypes,” said Michael Finegan, Director of IoT Business Development at MultiTech.
Programmers and tech professionals attending the workshop will learn how to prototype, and develop an IoT project by incorporating the necessary hardware, transport/connectivity and chips. They will also learn from industry leaders on how to crowd source libraries for sensor and peripherals using a cloud based IDE, and how to move data from the edge sensor/processor to a cloud platform as a service using a cellular module.
A pre-lab email will be sent one week prior to the event to go over the necessary prep work for all participants at the workshop, which will be needed for the following hands-on labs:
• SMS Lab: This lab will explore how to send sensor data using SMS to say, “hello world.”
• LPWA modules will be used to send data to a local gateway and publish information on M2X.
• Sensor tech: This lab will explore creating sensor end node to collect valuable data points.
• Rohm Sensor board: This lab will explore how to publish information to the platform as a service using, for example, temperature and barometric pressure.
The workshop will focus on both Cellular SoM (System on Module) and RF SoM-LoRa MultiTech’s MultiConnect mDot™, long range RF modules. Participants will also gain experience publishing data to AT&Ts M2X platform and will receive an activated development kit to continue prototyping and access to M2X for 30 days after the workshop. New Arduino Integrated sensor board will be provided to capture many different data streams.
