Renowned for engineering and land surveying since 1950, Shafer, Kline & Warren (SKW) announced the formation of a new Executive Leadership Team that will help guide the company’s future as it prepares for leadership transitions over the next few years.

The newly established ELT will be a functioning management team responsible for developing new initiatives to increase the company’s operational efficiency and profitability. SKW’s board of directors will oversee the team, which is composed of younger executives who are poised to assume key leadership roles within the company.

“We are in a unique and exciting period of transition, which has afforded us the opportunity to develop and attract some great leaders,” SKW CEO Ron Petering said. “Having this new team in place helps to ensure SKW will continue to thrive now and well into the future.”

When forming the team, SKW’s leadership chose four professionals with varying tenures and representing distinct areas of the company. The team consists of: Janet Jakobe-Gray, chief human resources officer; Brian Johanning, vice president of infrastructure and development; Brandon Pipesh, vice president of pipeline integrity and construction; and Greg Shelton, chief marketing officer.

“In addition to assuring we have the next generation of leadership in place, the ELT will allow us to establish a foundation for a broader leadership development and retention program within SKW. Ideally, in 10 years, the ELT will be comprised of key leaders and high performing individuals that will be running the company in 2040 and beyond,” Shelton said.
