North American Bancard Celebrates the Season of Thanks by Giving to Forgotten Harvest
Troy, Michigan (PRWEB) November 25, 2015 -- For the third year in a row, North American Bancard, an award-winning industry leader in credit card processing, is helping Forgotten Harvest provide Thanksgiving dinner for those in need in Metro Detroit. This year, rather than donating actual turkeys, the company is giving certificates for Thanksgiving turkeys or hams to the non-profit, which is dedicated to relieving hunger in metro Detroit. Donating the certificates will allow Forgotten Harvest to purchase exactly what is needed to prepare Thanksgiving meals for individuals and families helped by the organization.
Founded in 1990, Forgotten Harvest is a Detroit area non-profit organization that “rescues” surplus prepared and perishable food sources including grocery stores, fruit and vegetable markets, restaurants, caterers, dairies, farmers, wholesale food distributors and other Health Department-approved resources. The collected food is then distributed free of charge to more than 260 emergency food providers in the metro Detroit area. The certificates donated by North American Bancard will help provide Thanksgiving dinners for individuals and families served by Forgotten Harvest’s ten agencies in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties.
