Lakeview Health Addiction Treatment Center Shows How Grateful Those in Recovery Are
Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) November 25, 2015 -- Lakeview Health, a Jacksonville-based drug and alcohol addiction treatment center, is encouraging people across the country to celebrate their sobriety and show through pictures what a positive difference it makes. The social media campaign invites people to post “before and after” photos this Thanksgiving with the hashtag #FacesOfGratitude on their Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts. Short stories can be added to describe personal journeys from active addiction to treatment and recovery.
“When we hear the word addiction, our brains immediately think of words like problem or crisis, but there are so many positive stories that come from recovery,” explains Dr. Philip Hemphill, Chief Clinical Officer. “People are proud of their recovery—and what better time than Thanksgiving to recognize their accomplishments and inspire those who need help heading into a potentially difficult holiday time?”
Posts have already begun to appear on social media. Hundreds of recovery groups and treatment centers across the country have been contacted in hopes that their alumni will become involved. The campaign will run through Sunday, November 29. Lakeview plans to make it an annual event.
“What is so amazing about recovery is the change in the way people see themselves,” explains Ami Brantley, Recovery Coach. “From these pictures that are posted, you not only see a physical transformation but a sense of confidence and well-being in their eyes.”
