Ghirardelli Square, a Bay Area landmark established in 1964, celebrates the 51st Anniversary of its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony sponsored by KRON 4 on Black Friday, November 27th, from 5-9 pm; the actual lighting of the 60 ft. tree occurs at 5:30 pm.

To commemorate 51 years of tradition, KRON 4 Reporter Grant Lodes will join San Francisco Philanthropist and curator behind Helpers House of Couture, Joy Venturini Bianchi to emcee a festive Ghirardelli Square event that includes a visit from Santa, festive children’s activities, snowfall and live music Delphi Freeman and Kevin Toqe & Band. Vom Fass will be serving spiced cider and coffee to keep you warm, and Le Marais Bistro and Bakery will serve baked goods outside of their holiday pop-up location in the Fountain Plaza prior to opening in 2016. San Francisco based women's lifestyle brand, Les Méchantes is offering 20% off the entire store - including sale merchandise - and offering warm apple cider in the Square's Lower Plaza.

About Ghirardelli Square:
Jamestown purchased Ghirardelli Square in 2013 and has since been working to reinstate local significance to the historic global destination and strengthen its neighborhood influence in San Francisco. Jonathan Waxman's restaurant concept joins more than 20 retailers in the space, purveying everything from local coffee and art to Northern California artisanal goods, gifts, fashion, wine and French baked delicacies. The Square is also an epicenter for annual community and national events such as Uncorked Wine Festival, Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival and the Tree Lighting Ceremony. Purchased by Domingo Ghirardelli in 1893, the Square was built to headquarter the original Ghirardelli Chocolate Company. In 1982, the Square was added to the National Historic Register.
