Water For Empowerment Celebrates a Successful Launch with a Lively Party to Raise Funds and Awareness
Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) November 25, 2015 -- As part of a global movement to make clean water accessible for all, Water For Empowerment™ attracts volunteers together who want to combine talents and resources to help create sustainable communities built on clean water by empowering women as key stakeholders in the process. The non-profit launched its first major fundraiser on November 6, 2015 at Bent Rail Brewery, Indianapolis, and announced a three-year partnership with WaterAid America to raise $90,000 for clean water micro-enterprises for young women in the Bilwi region of Nicaragua.
President and Co-Founder, Dawn Sandoe comments, “The launch party was a major milestone that marked our readiness to build awareness and funds for young women working in technical areas like hygiene, sanitation, rainwater catchment, pump and well repair. We were able to generate citywide awareness for our current WaterAid project, but also local awareness that a world community is united by efforts of the UN Member Nations and World Health Organization. Between funds raised and new volunteers created at our launch event, we are enthusiast about addressing the worldwide lack of clean water and its’ multitude of benefits.”
Sandoe explains, “As we build a new community for Water for Empowerment, what we want our supporters to realize is that when we make clean water accessible to under privileged areas in the world, we interrupt that cycle of poverty that forces girls to walk hours on dangerous roads; and we put them back in the classroom where they belong. When we do this, we do our part to stop human trafficking. The sex slave industry continues to capitalize on girls who are underutilized as the valuable asset they are for transforming the economies of their own communities.”
Various local and national businesses attended the November launch event, which was coordinated by Event Producer Stephen Garstang, and was made possible by event sponsors, such as EnviroForensics, Liberation Roasting Company, Bent Rail Brewery, Crossroad Vintners, Vapor Protection Services, Green eSolutions, Brandt Construction, Inc., Arteangie, Amelia’s, and The Best Chocolate in Town.
Corporate Sponsor Green eSolutions CEO, Aaron Greene stated, “Working in collaboration with Water For Empowerment and using web technologies to get the message out on this important mission is truly revolutionary and a privilege to be a part of. My company is excited to be a part of the growing awareness of this topic, and we look forward to seeing how Water For Empowerment can play a part in this special need in the world.”
Water For Empowerment is partnering with WaterAid America to energize this new program in Nicaragua, which helps develop micro-enterprises for young women in poverty and without access to clean water and sanitation.
