Sevatec Awarded Two Prime Contracts to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)
Fairfax, Virginia (PRWEB) December 14, 2015 -- Sevatec, Inc. (Sevatec), a leading provider of Agile software, data, and cyber engineering solutions for the federal government, announced today that it has been awarded two prime contracts supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Awarded under Sevatec’s DHS EAGLE II vehicle, the SEVP Optional Practical Training (OPT) Portal Support Services and SEVP Engineering Services contracts both include a one-year base period and four one-year option periods.
Under the terms of the SEVP OPT Support Services contract, Sevatec will deliver design, development, and operations support to the OPT Portal, providing a common interface to allow eligible students with F-1 status to maintain and update information, obtain temporary employment, and gain experience in degree programs related to their primary area of study. Our support for the SEVP Engineering Services contract includes critical application development and systems engineering services to facilitate employment and educational opportunities for nonimmigrant students, exchange visitors (EVs), and their dependents.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with the DHS to help improve the SEVP and SEVIS application, making a more effective and reliable program and system for government entities and nonimmigrant users; and more importantly, enhancing critical capabilities to protect our national security, ” stated Balan Ayyar, Sevatec’s President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). “With this win, Sevatec has expanded our Immigration portfolio across DHS, which further confirms the confidence DHS has placed in Sevatec’s performance and customer service culture.”
SEVP is a program within ICE that monitors students and exchange visitors in the U.S., and shares pertinent status information on nonimmigrant students with other government organizations, such as the Department of State. Administered by the SEVP, SEVIS is a web-based application that simplifies electronic reporting and monitoring of international students (F and M visa) and exchange visitors (J Visa) and their dependents in the U.S.
