PBI-Gordon Corporation recently announced that Kabuto™ Fungicide SC is approved for purchase in the United States. A liquid formulation of the active ingredient isofetamid, Kabuto is proven in university research and end-user trials to provide preventative and curative Dollar Spot control.
“This is big news for PBI-Gordon and for the industry,” says Jim Goodrich, product manager for fungicides, insecticides and plant growth regulators at PBI-Gordon. “Dollar Spot is one of the most prevalent and expensive diseases in turf, and Kabuto gives lawn care professionals and golf course supers an effective new tool to fight it.”
PBI-Gordon has partnered with ISK Biosciences Corporation (ISKBC) of Concord, OH, a subsidy of Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha Ltd. (ISK) of Osaka, Japan, in the production, sales, and distribution of the product to the professional turf management industry. Featuring the active ingredient isofetamid, Kabuto will help ease the economic impact of Dollar Spot by managing resistance concerns.
“The successes of Segway, Katana, and now Kabuto are testament to the strength of the ISKBC-PBI-Gordon partnership,” says Tom Hoffman, senior vice president and general manager for PBI-Gordon. ““I’m confident Kabuto will have a positive impact on the professional turf industry.”
